Robert Bershenyi Obituary

Robert William Bershenyi March 15, 1919 – August 7, 2012 Robert William Bershenyi, age 93, passed away peacefully on August, 7 2012, at Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Western Colorado. He was a resident and rancher in the Glenwood Springs area for 71 years before retiring to Grand Junction in 1990. Robert served in the U.S. Army in World War II from 1941 to 1945, being stationed in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He married Marcia Stephens on May 29, 1951, in Glenwood Springs. She survives him. Robert enjoyed cattle ranching, hunting, watching sports, and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He is also survived by his son, Alan of Grand Junction, and daughter, Karen of Broomfield. Other survivors include sister-in-law, Ella Stephens of Grand Junction; nephews, Stephen (10) Bershenyi of Glenwood Springs, and Mark (Amy) Bershenyi of Centennial, and nieces, Maritza (Wally) Sneddon of Longmont; Julia Bershenyi of Golden, and Christine (Kirk) Pokrandt of Denver. Funeral services will be held at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs on Monday, August 13, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. with burial at Rosebud Cemetery following. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Western Colorado, 3090 B North 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
