Ronal Goyn Obituary

Ronal Goyn November 1, 1914 – May 7, 2010 Ronal was born to Ray and Violet Goyn November 1, 1914. He died peacefully May 7 at his home south of Collbran. His daughter, Sue who spent nine years caring for him was at his bedside the night he passed away. Ronal married Mildred Clark October 4, 1937. She preceded him death on June 18, 2005. Ronal and Mildred are survived by their two children, Sue and Dennis; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Ron and Min, her affectionate nickname, took Donald and Dariel, her twin brothers, to live with them when the boys were just 12 years old. Don and Dariel were most grateful for their affection and care. Ron and Min had many bird feeders and loved watching the wide variety of bird species that came to feed in their yard. They also enjoyed the deer and other wildlife they could watch through their windows. Ron spent his entire life in Plateau Valley. In his youth he rode as a cowboy with Walt Carmichael, a legendary cowhand. Most of his adult life he worked as a rancher but he also spent 25 years operating a road grader for Mesa County. Ronal and his family requested there be no funeral services and that his body be cremated. His ashes will be placed with those of his wife at a beautiful spot in the high country they both loved. Martin Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Ron's family deeply appreciates the outpouring of affection and support form their many friends at this time in their lives.
