Roy Lambert Obituary
May 8, 1929 - October 4, 2017
Roy Joseph Lambert, Jr. was born May 8, 1929, in Englewood, Colorado to Viola (Strelow) and Roy Lambert, Sr. He grew up with brothers, Ronald, Duane, Eugene and sister, Frances. Upon graduation from Englewood High School in 1946, he immediately joined the Marines and served two years as military police while stationed in Guam.
In 1949 he married the love of his life, Blanche Elizabeth Lawless, in Denver Colorado. They had three children, Douglas, Victoria and Kay. His oldest child Douglas lost his life serving in the U.S.M.C. in Vietnam in 1969. Sister, Frances Nawyn (Brigham, Utah) and daughters, Victoria Sanborn (Carlsbad, NM), and Kay Lambert (Mesa, CO) survive him. For the last five years, Dorothy Mitchell has been his devoted companion.
Roy died on October 4, 2017, at Hopewest Hospice in Grand Junction, Colorado. Roy was a big personality, full of life and living life on his terms.
Celebrations of Roy's life will be held at the following locations and dates: Grand Valley Memorial Service, October 14, 2:00 p.m. First Christian Church, 1326 N. 1st Street. Coffee and cookies will be served. Celebration of Life, October 22, 1 - 5:00 p.m., Wine Country Inn, 777 Grande River Dr., Palisade. Hors d'oeuvres, wine and beer will be served, come share a "Roy" story, and raise a glass in his honor. Front Range/ Denver Area Celebration of life October 28, 1 - 4:00 p.m., Two Penguins Tap & Grill, 13065 East Briarwood Ave., Centennial, CO. We invite all who knew Roy to come share a farewell drink and share stories.

I am sorry to read of the passing of your beloved family member. He will be missed. Losing a loved one is never easy. Even Jeaus cried upon losing his friend Lazarus in death. John 11:35 mentions how Jeaus "gave way to tears." What is comforting about this account is, just as Jesus was willing and able to bring Lazarus back to life he can do the same for your loved one. He will accomplish this by means of God's Kingdom in which we pray for in the Lord's Prayer.
