Sharon Huff Obituary

Sharon Lea (Kirkendall) Huff
October 19, 1939 - March 24, 2016
Sharon passed away at Courtyard Care Center in Fruita, CO, of Parkinson's Disease. Her daughter and husband were by her side.
Sharon was born in Los Angeles, CA to Ted and Hazel Kirkendall. The family moved to Palisade, CO, where she grew up. She attended Palisade High School and Grand Junction High School, graduating in 1958. She attended Mesa Junior College.
Sharon worked at St. Mary's Hospital for four years, Colorado Hitchcock, Kuners Canning Factory, Crows Potato Chip Factory, and Clifton Co-op, packing peaches. She and her family were involved in the palisade fruit harvest throughout her life. Between she and her dad, they picked over a ton of cherries in just one day. She spent the last 37 years as a CNA at La Villa Grande Care Center. She dedicated her love and caring spirit to her patients.
Sharon was a member of the Rainbow Girls, White Shrine, and Eastern Star Chapter 53 for over 50 years. She was also a 25 year member of the Moose Lodge.
Our mom loved to sing and dance, play the piano, bowl, hike, fish and hunt for arrow heads. She loved to attend the Barber Shoppers and Sweet Adelines, and all of the Bar D Wranglers singing group presentations. She was an avid square dancer and seamstress. She loved her dogs, Rex, Tippy, Gracie, and Mitzy.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Elaine Worsham. She is survived by her husband, Edward Huff; daughter, Renee Day; sons, John Johnson of Spokane, WA, and Cecil Johnson of Palisade, CO, and grandchildren, James, Justin, Jessica, Cody, Kaleb, Regina, and Brandon.
We would like to thank her friends, Pat and Richard Sims and LaVonne Titus for all their help in caring for mom. We would also like to thank Lorie Frazier and all the staff at Hilltop Senior Day Break. Thank you to all the staff, CNAs and all who cared for our mom during her stay at Courtyard Care Center.
Her courageous smile and laugh will be remembered and missed by all. Thanks for the memories, love and guidance and being our biggest cheer leader throughout our activities in life.
