Dennis Wirt Sr.

1953 - 2020

Dennis Wirt Sr. of Gladwin, passed away quietly in his sleep on Friday, December 18, 2020. He was born on May 11, 1953, the son of Henry and Florence "Byrdina" (Hodges) Wirt in Reed City. Dennis was united in marriage to Polly Cross on November 20, 1976 in Evart. Dennis has been a resident of Gladwin County his whole life and was employed at Lethere Truss in Clare. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and playfully terrorizing his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Polly Wirt; and two sons, Joe Wirt (Diana) of Honor and Dennis and Sarah Wirt Jr. of Beaverton. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Josh (fiance, Devin) Spaulding, Steve and Jessica Parrish, Jasmine Bland, Isabelle, Becca, Amy and Jasmine. He also had seven great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Zoe, Luke, Remona, Jaylynn, Abel and Maddy. He is also survived by his two brothers, Greg and Tom Wirt. He is preceded in death by his mother. He will be gratefully missed by his family and many friends.
