Helene Rocque Obituary

Helene A. Rocque, 98, went peacefully into the arms of our Lord Wednesday morning, April 16th. There to greet her was her husband of 63 years, "Gene" (2011), her son Jamie (2015), and infant son, William "Billy" (1960). Helene is survived by six children and their spouses, Robert "Bob" (Barb), David (Sandy), Daniel "Dan" (Lee), Suzanne (Jim), Marc (Karla), and Teresa (Rick), along with 22 grandchildren, and 46 great-grandchildren.

She was born Helene Alberta Prescott on September 20, 1926 in Glens Falls, NY and grew up in North Creek, NY. She met her husband, Robert Eugene "Gene" Rocque in high school and they married July 10,1947. Gene's military career took them to many places in and out of the USA and in 1968 they moved to Satellite Beach, Fl. Helene attended Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church for many years and was a driver for Meals-on-Wheels for 20+ years. She gave of her time and talents and welcomed all into her home, including a menagerie of pets! She enjoyed cooking, sewing and cross-stitch and for her family and friends was babysitter, taxi driver, great neighbor, shoulder to lean on, ear to listen, cook, seamstress, and so much more.

Helene was proud to brag that her father made the first skis used on Gore Mountain and she made sure everyone knew her ancestor (Samuel Prescott) completed Paul Revere's Ride. However, Helene's greatest pride and joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Visitation will be held at Beach Funeral Home in Indian Harbour Beach from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 4th and include a memorial tribute starting at 3:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 5th with burial at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helene's honor to St. Francis Hospice @ https://reflectionslsc.org/donate

Hi grandma. It took me a while to write this, so I'm sorry for taking so long. I miss you and I love you so much. I want to thank you for always being there for me and my family. For always having an open door for everyone who ever showed up at your doorstep. For always being so kind to everyone and having such a positive impact on anyone who had the blessing of knowing you. For making me the coolest volleyball shorts... cow spots and trolls to be specific. As I was growing up your home was my second home and I will always cherish those memories. Eating at the big red picnic table, swimming in the pool, visiting with the rest of our huge family while we were in town, and feeding all the squirrels and birds. There are so many wonderful memories I have with you and papa. I am so grateful for that. Your celebration of life, mass, and burial were beautiful. You were loved by so many. I will come see you and papa next time were in town. Tell papa and Jamie I love them and miss them too. Love you with all my heart... Chris and family.
