Sterling Caple Obituary

Sterling B. Caple Jr., 93, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Born on May 15, 1932, in Cedarhurst, Maryland, Sterling graduated from Hartwick College in 1953, where he was a proud member of the TKE Fraternity. On September 19, 1959, he married the love of his life, Constance S. Caple, in Lake George, New York.
Sterling dedicated 30 years of service to the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service, retiring in 1995. He was a devoted member of Sterling United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities and sang joyfully in the choir for 28 years.

After retirement, Sterling embraced life with enthusiasm-playing senior softball, bowling, and golfing well into his 90s. He cherished time spent with family and friends, sharing meals, playing cards, and reminiscing about the good old days.
Sterling is survived by his beloved wife, Constance; son Spencer Caple of Leesburg, VA; daughter Susan Caple of Tullahoma, TN; and two grandchildren, Cole Schillreff of Tullahoma, TN, and Jenna Caple of Leesburg, VA.

Sterling will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for family and community.
