Queensbury – Tadd Casey, 52, of Queensbury, passed away at his home with his family at his side on Monday, December 16, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born March 10, 1972, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Carol Doyle of Warrensburg and the late Daniel Casey.
Tadd was a 1990 graduate of Warrensburg High School, where he played basketball, football, baseball and became a member of Key Club, because that is where the girls were!
After graduating high school, he attended ACC, but after one semester decided to join the Army.
He served four years with the US Army before being honorably discharged. Upon discharge, he went back to ACC, graduated and headed to St. Rose to become a teacher. Shortly after starting at St. Rose, he had the opportunity to buy the Full Moon. He called his mom and told her he wanted to own his own bar!
This began his incredible adventure of owning and running the Full Moon Bar & Grill on Glen Lake Road. He was able to have his brother, Adam, along on the entire journey. What started as a job, turned into a large family and lifelong friendships across multiple generations for over 26 years.
The Full Moon Family was very close to Tadd's heart. He wanted to hear about their families, especially their children. Tadd had strong compassion for making children happy and was a selfless giver. He was always doing something to raise money for children's organizations, including Operation Santa Clause, Kindness Closet, Special Olympics, Kelly's Angels, and delivered Meals on Wheels. Tadd was also known for grabbing any remaining tags from the children's giving tree at the Elks Lodge or buying 13 bikes to hand out.
He was an avid fan of the Houston Astros baseball team and TCU college football team (aka Tadd Casey University). Tadd was a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge #81, Glens Falls.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by both sets of his grandparents.
Survivors include his mother, Carol and her husband, Dick, of Warrensburg; his brother, Adam, of Fort Ann; his uncle, Bob and his wife, Susan MacDougall, of Texas and his aunts, Nancy Audette and her husband, Rob of Lake George, and Marianne 'Nan' Tarbell of Virginia. Tadd is also survived his extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, many close friends and his faithful Full Moon Bar family.
Family and friends may call from 2 – 6 pm on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury.
A celebration of Tadd's life will be held on Saturday, December 28 at the Elks Lodge, 32 Cronin Road, Queensbury from 3-7 pm.
The family would like to express their gratitude to his caregivers Dawn and Jessica, and High Peaks Hospice for all the care, compassion and support during this difficult time.
A long-term charitable organization is being established in Tadd's name for helping children in need. In the meantime, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the organization below where they will be held until Tadd's charity organization is officially established.
