Aaron Madsen Obituary
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Wayside Chapel of the United Methodist Church in Mason City, Iowa. Family and friends are welcome and encouraged to join us at the casual service and lunch following at the church to share memories and say goodbye to Aaron.
Aaron was born in Mason City on July 17, 1976to Sherry (Beal) Madsen and Dennis Madsen; he attended Harding Elementary, John Adams Junior High and Mason City High School. Aaron was a carpenter by trade, coming by it naturally as he had a great-grandfather and uncle who were also carpenters. Aaron took pride in his finished projects and was a perfectionist, which showed in his work. Aaron joined the U.S. Navy in 1995 and proudly served as did his father, uncle and grandfather before him.
Aaron had two daughters he was so very proud of, Makayla (Aidan) de Boer of Ankeny, Iowa and Charleigh Madsen of Yankton, South Dakota. Additionally, those left to lovingly remember Aaron are his mother, Sharon (Mark) Zuehlke, Arizona; sister, Amy (Matt Hunt) Bjerke, Nora Springs, IA; step-brother, Trapper (Rhoda) Zuehlke, Council Bluffs, IA; niece, Jordan Bjerke, Mason City, IA; nephews, Andrew (Miranda) Bjerke, Des Moines, IA, Brendan Hunt, Nora Springs, IA, Jonah, Zachary and Zayden Zuehlke of Council Bluffs, IA.
