Annette Pauline Scholl
Annette Pauline Scholl was born on July 8, 1953 to James and Marlene (Nielsen) Sheriff in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Jim and Marlene moved to a farm outside of Rockwell in 1966. In 1971, Annette graduated from Rockwell-Swaledale High School.
On November 24, 1973, Annette was joined in holy matrimony to Mark Eugene Scholl, the son of Ralph and Ida Rose Scholl of Rockwell. Mark and Annette have three children, Meagen, Justin and Jordan.
Annette embraced being the oldest of her siblings. She was known to many as "Martha". On Sunday mornings, all were welcome to stop over for breakfast, and many did. Annette loved baking and cooking for others, she loved to host friends and family in her home. Chocolate chip cookies and sugar cookies were two of her best. She also loved her time tending to her flower beds.
When their children were in high school, Annette was a staple in the bleachers andsidelines during many Rebel events. She would be one to admit that Friday night lights were some of her favorite events to attend. During the more recent years Annette enjoyed her grandkids' events from soccer to football, softball, wrestling and volleyball, as well as archery tournaments and cattle shows. She was a proud grandma at every event. Annette was a loving mother to her children, a sister who her siblings could lean on, and a caring and courageous wife to Mark.
Mark and Annette celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November of 2023. They had many wonderful times together. Some of her favorite times were driving to Waterloo to go to the casino and go shopping or just going to Mason City for groceries and Starbucks coffee. She liked to get her nails done. Her beautiful nails were always perfectly painted, something that her granddaughters cherished. They loved spending time borrowing Grandma's nail things. She always made sure she had nail polish for the girls to use and cinnamon bread for the boys to eat.
Annette is survived by her husband Mark. Her children, Meagen and Larry Wentz of Rockwell, their children, Addison, Alexa & Aubrey; Justin and Katie Scholl of Grimes, their children Nathan and Lucas; Jordan and Kathy Scholl of Danbury, their children Henry Pithan, Olivia Pithan and Vivian. Her siblings Debra & Gary Bills of Aredale; Carol and Jerry Stambaugh of Mason City; David Sheriff of Rockwell; Doug and Julie Sheriff of Rockwell; Kaye & Doug Fredin of Rockwell, and many nieces & nephews, grand-nieces & nephews.
Annette is preceded in death by her parents James and Marlene Sheriff, her in-laws Ralph and Ida Rose Scholl and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Parish Hall in Rockwell on Tuesday, March 19th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

Mark I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful wife & friend. Annette was a very nice & thoughtful classmate to all. I lost my wife in May. It´s the toughest thing I´d ever imagined. The pain is brutal. From what I´m reading, Annette sounded to be an awesome family lady. You take care of yourself Mark.
