Carol Jilek Obituary
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Jeff Dahlin officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Praise Community Church.
Maxine was born Nov. 21, 1923, in Afton, the daughter of Herbert and Ruth (Volding) Stevens. She attended and graduated from Crystal Lake Schools. Maxine married Fred Jilek on Oct. 3, 1941, in Blue Earth, Minn. To this union five children were born.
Maxine enjoyed golfing, quilting, and knitting. She also loved to watch old movies on TV, such as "Little House on the Prairie" and anything with John Wayne. Maxine went out with her friends on Friday nights to supper and she enjoyed baking and cooking for her own family.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Linda) Jilek of Mason City, daughters, Fredde Jilek and Mary (John) Willier, both from Mason City; her ex-daughters-in-law, Dee Bryant and Kim Kramer; her grandchildren, Rob (Laurie) Jilek, Tim (Melissa) Jilek, Michael Willier, Tracy Boehmer and Scott and Abbe Kramer; her great-grandchildren, Tad Jilek, Collin Jilek, Madison Jilek, Jordan Jilek, Joey Ayala, Zachary Boehmer and Alexander and Lukas Shipman; her sister, Peggy (Cliff) Nagel; and her brother, Robert (Brenda) Stevens.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred; her son Scott; and her brother, Bud Stevens.

I am sorry for your loss. I will try to make the visitation if possible. I remember the great times at the family reunions, time spent visiting in the summer months and so much more. She was such a fun person, much like her mother. May God be with you during this difficult time.
