Donald Dale Nesbit
March 18, 1922 - August 30, 2018
CLEAR LAKE - Donald Dale Nesbit, age 96, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2018, at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden, UT. Born on March 18, 1922, in Clear Lake, Iowa, to parents Floyd and Ella Nesbit, Don was a 1940 graduate of Clear Lake High School.
As Lieutenant in the 15th Army Air Force in World War II, Don was the navigator on a B-24 bomber. He was shot down in July 1944 over Romania and was held as a POW. After the war, he earned a Juris Doctor from USC, and a Master's in Accounting plus teaching credentials from San Francisco State. He had a successful career as an accountant, and later, as a professor of accounting, business law, and computer programming at San Jose City College and Evergreen Valley College in San Jose, CA.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Don enjoyed camping, backpacking, and fishing, as well as traveling throughout North America and Europe.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Marlene, of Eden UT, sons Douglas (Lisa), of Danville CA, and Paul (Adelina), of Eden UT. He is also survived by sons Michael (Mitsy) and Mark (Diane), and daughter Claudia Meyer, each of San Diego CA, from his earlier marriage to Jayne Colony, of Des Moines, IA. He is survived also by six grandchildren.
