Harry T. Eichinger, 77, of Mason City, died Friday, November 14, 2025.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Epiphany Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church. 302 5th St SE, Mason City with Rev. David O'Connor as Celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Elmwood St Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.
Harry's family will greet relatives and friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the church.

Harry Thomas Eichinger was born March 15, 1948 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Richard and Margaret (Johnston) Eichinger and joined his older brother, Dan. His father was a medical products representative and for Abbott Laboratories and relocated to three cities while Harry was a child, Galesburg, IL, where Anita joined the family, Waterloo, IA where Dick joined the family, and finally, Mason City, IA.
Harry attended school at St. Joseph's and Newman High School, a member of the 1966 class. He attended NIACC and continued at Michigan Technical University in Houghton, Michigan where he graduated with a Civil Engineering degree in 1971.
From the spring of 1971 until the fall of 1972, he worked at the Mason City, City Engineer's Office, watching the Vietnam Draft number at the post office. His number was not chosen. He returned to college at Michigan Tech and graduated in 1973 with an Engineering Administration Degree.
From the summer of 1973 through the fall of 2000 he was an Engineering and Construction Projects Cost Engineer with the Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation of Boston, Massachusetts, where he worked project management cost and progress reports on many Power Plant projects. He had 17 addresses as he moved from project to project. He did spend 13 years (not continuous) in Vincennes, Indiana working on S&W projects for the Indianapolis Power and Light Company.
When the Stone and webster Engineering Corporation ceased operations in the Fall of 2000, he worked the next 7 years as an Office Temporary Employee as a Cost Engineer with The Spear Group of Atlanta, Georgia. While with The Spear Group, he spent 5 years in Albany, Georgia, 1 year in Juno Beach, Florida and closing his working days with 1 year in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at the Duane Arnold Nuclear Power Plant in Palo, IA.
In the Fall of 2007, he retired to his home in Mason City, Iowa.
In the Spring of 2011, he became a full time Volunteer at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City, Iowa, where he gave countless hours serving as a volunteer. He also remained devoted to Epiphany Parish Catholic Church in Mason City where his camaraderie and volunteerism will be greatly missed by all.
Harry is survived by his siblings, Dan Eichinger and Linda, of Marion, IA, Anita (Eichinger) Patrick with Malcolm Young of Milford, OH, and Dick Eichinger of Tucson, AZ. Nephews and niece, Paul, Mark, Jason and Stacie Eichinger and Wes Cavanaugh. Friend of friends, Kathleen Throckmorton, Huntsville, AL and Ken and Kathy Pristas, Huntsville, AL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Margaret Eichinger; and sister in law, Jean Eichinger.
