Hazel Irene Krell
Hazel Irene Krell, 79, of Burlington, Iowa, and formerly of Topeka, Kansas; Lyndon, Kansas; and Clear Lake, Iowa, died at 3:35 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 17, 2005) at Great River Medical Center- Klein's Center in Burlington.
Born on July 31, 1926 in Mason City, she was the daughter of Ray and Pearl Runyan Faulk.
On Sept. 14, 1946, she married Billie Glen Krell in Mason City. He died on April 17, 1991.
She was a graduate of Mason City High School and earned her teaching certificate from Mason City Junior College.
Mrs. Krell was the manager of an abstract company for Osage County in Lyndon, Kansas from 1968 to 1988. She was of the Methodist faith. She was involved for 30 years in Girl Scout leadership for Flint Hills Council, Kansas, and enjoyed needlework, playing bridge, and ballroom dancing.
Survivors include three daughters, Robyn Krell of Cedar Rapids, Sandy Krell-Andre of Burlington, and Kim Cook of Moscow, Idaho; two sons, Richard Krell of Sauk Village, Ill., and Shane Krell of Lyndon, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elaine Dunn and Betty Lou Alexandres, both of Mason City.
Her husband, parents, and one brother preceded her in death.
The memorial funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, in Unity Center on Blairs Ferry Road in Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Brenda Ehert officiating.
A memorial funeral service will be held at the First Methodist Church, Lyndon, Kansas, on Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, with inurnment to follow in Lyndon Cemetery. Time for service in Lyndon is pending.
A memorial has been established for Great River Medical Center's-Klein's Center Extended Care, in care of Lunning Chapel, 2620 Mount Pleasant St., Burlington, IA 52601.
