Jeremy Duane Dotzler
September 21, 1985-March 13, 2024
MANLY-Jeremy Duane Dotzler, a beloved husband, son, brother, and uncle, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at his home in Manly, Iowa. He was 38 years old.
Born on September 21, 1985, in Mason City, Iowa, to Jerry and Jean (Manning) Dotzler, Jeremy grew up in a loving family. He attended Rockwell-Swaledale High School, graduating with the class of 2004. Pursuing his passion for automotive mechanics, Jeremy earned a degree from NIACC and went on to work as a mechanic at Spee-Dee delivery in Mason City.
On August 2, 2019, Jeremy married the love of his life, Anna Heiny, in a beautiful ceremony. Their love story was one of devotion and shared adventures, including Jeremy's memorable proposal on his families' pontoon boat.
Jeremy's greatest passion was fishing, and he cherished his trips to Ely, Minnesota, where he would cast his line for Northern Pike. He found solace and joy in being on the water, whether fishing or boating. His degree in automotive mechanics propelled his passion for working on cars, finding a deal of a lifetime & using this expertise to help others out of the kindness of his heart. In the winters, when not on the lake, he worked in his snowplow business where "no matter how big or small, he plowed them all".
Family was everything to Jeremy. He was a proud uncle who never missed his nieces' and nephews' activities. He loved spending time with his dogs, Hank and Hazel, taking them on Ranger rides and enjoying their companionship.
Jeremy is survived by his loving wife, Anna; his parents, Jerry and Jean Dotzler; his brothers, James (Casey) Dotzler and Jeff Dotzler; his nieces and nephews, Sophie, Emme, Max, and Brady Dotzler, Oliver Heiny, Nepkea and Abiagayle Stroberg; his honorary grandmother, Mick Whitehurst; his father-in-law, Mark Heiny; his mother-in-law, Jane Heiny; his brother-in-law, Bill (Ashley Martin) Heiny; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved four-legged friends, Hank, Hazel, Molly, Stella, Maggie, and CoCo.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, with the Rev. Wendy Johannesen officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 4 until 7 PM at the funeral home and will continue one hour prior to the service time on Wednesday.
