Jerry Green Obituary
Celebration of Life services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church, 510 E. 15th St. Davenport.
Burial will be at noon Friday in Belmond Cemetery, Belmond, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly Road at Jersey Ridge in Davenport,
Memorials may be made to the SLB Foundation of Hope or to First Christian Church, Davenport.
Jerry was born July 22, 1946, in Mason City, to Carl C. and Dorothy (Mossman) Green.
He married Janice Grabbe in Sarasota, Fla., Oct. 9, 2004, after being together for 17 years.
Jerry was a graduate of Belmond (Iowa) High School and of University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. degree in accounting.
For 18 years, he worked as a senior revenue accountant in the Finance Department, City of Davenport.
He was a member of First Christian Church, Davenport, where he was active as the organist and pianist. He formerly was active in the Garner, Iowa, Jaycees.
Survivors include his wife, Janice; brother, Jon (Judy) Green of Nisswa, Minn.; nephews, Brad Green of Princeton, Minn., and Todd Green of Buffalo, Minn.; three great-nephews and a great-niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Janice: It has been a while since I last saw you and Jerry together, but for some reason I can still see him and you in my mind's eye. No one can know how you feel to lose your soul mate. Jerry was always such a pleasant person and one of the few "good guys" that I knew while I was at the city. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and God bless.
