Friddle was my 9th grade Home Ech teacher in Gastonia, NC. She was a special teacher and special friend. I have fond memories of her taking several of us to Charleston one weekend. We had a wonderful time. I never understood why she treated us so special. We adored her. My regret is that I didn't try to locate her years ago. It would have been wonderful to have stayed in touch. My sympathy is extended to the family. Janette Smith Craig

Mrs. Behanna was my home ec teacher at Eastview Jr. High. I always will remember her beautiful smile and her patience; how she always was eager to help a student. Oh, how she touched my life! My heart goes out to her family and friends.

To the Behanna Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I was one of her Home Ec. students at Revere. She taught when I was at Eastview Jr. High and I thought that she disliked me. I was not fond of Home Ec in Jr. High.I was the girl who would have to rip out every seam because I did it backwards or the wrong way. Needless to say I didn't want to take Home Ec ever again! I thought that I was finished with it in Jr. High. Well as fate would have it Mrs. Behanna was then transfered to the High School.I would once again have to take Home Ec and Mrs. Behanna was the teacher. Boy was I worried! I dreaded my first day of the 7th period Home Ec class. The first day was not so bad. The second day wasn't too bad either. Hmm got me thinking. The more I was in the class the more I enjoyed it and her. She would always tell stories of growing up and her family. I began to really look forward to the class time. Every year in Mrs. Behanna's class got better and better. My Senior year (1981)finally came and it was time for the Senior Award for the department and I received it! She believed in me! When I graduated I started at Akron U and I wanted to be...A Home Ec teacher because of Mrs. Behanna! I studied Home Ec for 2 years but because of different circumstances I didn't finish but I still have my trusty sewing machine that I received as a graduation gift that I use frequently and when I do I have to chuckle to myself that Mrs. Behanna would not be happy that I took this short cut, etc. She was not only a great teacher but a terrific person and even after all these years I can't tell you how often I think about her! I was truly blessed to be a student of Mrs. Behanna!

To The Behanna Family,
Please accept my condolences on the loss of your Mother and Grandmother.
I was one of Mrs. Behanna's students from Home Ec when she taught in Hudson.
Aside from everything she taught us, I will never forget walking through the halls on the days her classes were baking cookies. The smells wafting through the halls outside her door were delicious. She was a good teacher, a really nice person, and one of the more memorable teachers who always had a smile for everyone.
Know she will remain in the memories I have that make me smile.
Again, my sincere condolences.
