CHARLES CITY - Michael "Mike" L. Zubrod, 39, of Charles City died Monday, September 23, 2013.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City.
Michael "Mike" Lee Zubrod was born December 27, 1973, in Charles City, Iowa the son of Larry and Cheri (Haugen) Zubrod. He received his education in Charles City and graduated from Charles City High School. Mike helped Larry with farming and recently worked at Mitas Tires North America Inc. in Charles City.
He loved golfing with his father, cousin Shawn and friend Gary, fishing and playing softball. Mike had a very loving heart and soul.
Mike is survived by his parents, Larry and Cheri Zubrod of Charles City; paternal grandparents, Orville and Velma Zubrod of Alta Vista; maternal grandmother, Beverly Haugen of Cresco; children, Ronan Michael, Levi Zachary and Alexandria (his step-daughter); two sisters, Kacie Mink of St. Peters, Mo., and Rebecca Wright of Sherman, Texas; two nephews, Taylor Mink and Garrett Wright; lifelong special friend, Denise Stout; along with many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gordon Haugen, and his two beloved uncles, Rich Haugen and Roger Tibbitts.
The Hauser Funeral Home, 641-228-2323, in Charles City, is in charge of arrangements.
