MASON CITY-Mildred Ellen "Mickie" (Dexter) Tyrrell, 90, of Mason City, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at MercyOne Medical Center - North Iowa. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at First United Methodist Church, 119 South Georgia, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Carol Kress officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time on Thursday. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com
Mickie was born on April 8, 1931, in Waterloo, Iowa. Her parents were Harold Earl and Ruth Mearle Dexter. She graduated from High School in 1949 and Gates Business College in Waterloo in 1950. She married her high school sweetheart Terry Tyrrell on September 16, 1951, at First Presbyterian Church in Vinton, Iowa. For more than 70 years, she was a wonderful wife, mother, companion, and best friend.
She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Sarah Circle, and Peo Chapter KX. She also enjoyed bowling, bridge, dancing, and dominos.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; son, Thomas and wife Jennifer from Merrimack, NH, daughter, Kristi Larsen and husband Chris; and grandchildren, Katie Larsen McClarty (Jim) and their daughters, Claire and Sophia, and Liz Larsen Knoot (Isaac) and their children, Aila and Beckett, and Danny Larsen.
Mickie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Marge Kittsmiller and Doris Growney; and brother, Don Dexter.

We were so sorry to hear about the death of Mickie! She was a great friend to us! I remember all the times we rode to basketball games together! They were great sports fans. We will continue to keep all her family in our prayers! Hugs to you all!
