Phyllis Kantaris Obituary
She was born on June 1, 1935, in Mason City, to George J. and Ann Margaret Olson Kantaris. Phyllis retired from ConAgra Food in Mason City. She loved to cook and dance. She enjoyed talking on the phone to her family and all her friends.
Survivors include her son, John (Lue) Muth, of Fort Madison; and her daughter, Karen (Terry) Hope, of Fort Madison; her brother, Jim (Gail) Kantaris, of Mason City; she was "Grams" to her grandchildren, Todd (Jennifer) Noll, Cody Nabors, Dena (DeAngelo) Seay, Nico Muth and Cory Muth; and her great-grandchildren, Taylor Noll, Karlee Nabors, Cameron Nabors, Joshua Noll, DeLanee Seay and Carter Nabors. "Aunt Tootie" is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald James Muth; and her sister, Darlene Holmes.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Mason City. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. untiltime of services at the church.
A memorial has been established in memory of Phyllis.

Karen and John and families - Phyllis was such a hoot and we will remember her fondly, our eyes misting every time, when we recall the many memories we have of her. You never knew what she was going to say, and to whom. She always kept us guessing because, as you know, she always spoke her mind. She had a fun-loving nature and would do anything for you. We feel such a loss. Love to all of you.

To John and Karen. You have our sympathy at this time of the loss of your Mother. Its always hard. The last time I saw you kids was at Ed Muth's farm sale. We watched you grow up on Ed and Carma's farm from across the road.. Time passes and death helps us realize life is short.
