GREENE | Funeral Services for Ruby F. Foster, 99, of Greene, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the United Methodist Church in Greene with Pastor Ann Donat officiating.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Greene.
Visitation will also be on Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church.
Ruby Fern Cunningham was born Jan. 4, 1915, in Dickinson County, the daughter of William and Edna (Bogenrief) Cunningham, and died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison in Allison. She attended public school graduating from Spirit Lake High School. Ruby also attended nine months of business college in Des Moines.
She was united in marriage to Lowell Foster on Jan. 4, 1935, at the Presbyterian Manse in Spirit Lake. This union was blessed with three sons: Delmar, Dallas and Lloyd. Mr. and Mrs. Foster farmed all their married life in Hardin, Buchannan, Dickinson, and Butler counties.
Ruby joined the Methodist Church at an early age. She was active in later years in UMW, serving in several officer positions. She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Living family members include two sons: Dallas (Sally) Foster of Greene; Lloyd (Linda) Foster of Omak, Wash.; daughter-in-law Carol Foster of Mason City; seven grandchildren: Douglas (Jody), Bradley (Paulette), Sylinda, Scott (Julie), Benjamin (Kelly), Christopher and Stefanie (Tracy) Winger; nine great-grandchildren: Steven (Lisa), Heather (Beau) Stubbe, Eric, Jacob, Ethan, Seth, Russ Arndt, Hailey and Christopher; three great-great-grandchildren: Nathan Foster, Jade and Piper Stubbe, several nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Lowell in 1993, her son, Delmar; her parents; three sisters: Gladys, Luree and Pearl.
