MASON CITY | Sharon Daub, 70, of Mason City, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at the Muse Norris Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
A funeral Mass for Sharon Daub will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Roseville. Monsignor Walter Brunkan will celebrate the Mass.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Roseville.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday and at the church an hour prior to the service.
Sharon Louise Daub was born Aug. 22, 1944, at Charles City, the daughter of Paul and Mary Lou (Scofield) Nixt. She graduated from Greene High School in 1962. On Sept. 6, 1962, she was united in marriage to John Daub Sr. For several years she worked at The Candle Shop in Greene as a Candle Party Demonstrator and designer. She also worked for a time as a bookkeeper for Klipto Printing in Mason City. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City. Her interests included drawing, coloring, hand sewing, flower and vegetable gardening, playing cards and enjoying nature while taking walks. Sharon also looked forward to taking day trips with her family. She will be remembered for her large collection of elephants. Family was always important to Sharon and she looked forward to being with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Living family members include her husband, John Daub, Sr.; four children, Lois Spieker and fiancé, Jon Peterson of Mason City, Julia (Steven) Knecht of Charles City, John W. (Jené) Daub Jr. of Traer and Christine (Thad) Evans of Joice; son-in-law, David Hinrich of Mason City; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; three brothers, George (Susan) Nixt of Greene, Stephen (Geri) Nixt of St. Michaels, Minn., and Michael (Ruth) Nixt of Greene; one sister Terry Menken of Marble Rock; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Stephen and Anthony Daub and Laura Hinrich; granddaughter, Stephania Daub; brother, James Nixt; and three stillborn siblings.
