Shirly Movick Obituary
June 4, 1935 - November 3, 2025
Shirly Ann Movick, 90, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away November 3, 2025. Shirly was born June 6, 1935 in Mason City; daughter of Robert and Maybel (Johnson) Schinnow. She graduated from Mason City High School and later earned her nursing degree. Shirly met Arlo Movick and they were married on October 24, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Shirley worked for MercyOne for 20 years and retired in 2005.
Shirly loved to crochet; making many blankets and afghans for family and friends. Shirly never turned down an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren. Shirly never lost her drive and passion for helping others. She volunteered many hours at Good Shepherd and was always happy to help any of her friends and family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Debra (Reed) Lucas, Michael Movick, and Anne Marie Miner; daughter-in-law, Tracy Movick; grandchildren, Amber, Teresa (Matt), Rachael, Sarah, Katy (Shane), Gabe, Casey (Amy), Tanner (Kristin)and Summer; great-grandchildren, Alex (Mary), Abby, Eli, Kyle, Taylor, Evelyn, Evan, Bexley, and Emery; great-great granddaughter, Emilia; sister-in-law, Donna Gatton; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Preceding her in death, her husband, Arlo, children, David and Jeffrey; a grandson, Justin; parents; son-in-law, Brian Miner; siblings, Deanna Rague, Robert Schinnow, and Bonnie Sonnenfeld
