GRAFTON | Steven Craig Dalluge, 56, of Grafton, died Feb, 23, 2017, in his hometown. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, with Pastor Solveig Zamzow officiating. Burial will be in the Grafton Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.
Steven was born in Mason City, Iowa, to Larry and Carol (Hennigar) Dalluge on Sept. 12, 1960. He attended Grafton and St. Ansgar public schools. He married the love of his life, Jane Hollatz on June 25, 1983, in St. Ansgar. Steve took great pride in the Dalluge Family Farm and enjoyed the time he spent working on the farm. He proudly served in the U. S. Army as a 82nd Airborne paratrooper and was qualified as an expert rifleman. He was an active member at Emmanuel Lutheran Church serving in many roles, including ushering, counting team and property board. He also enjoyed setting up the church Christmas tree every year.
Steve was first and foremost a family man and treasured the time he spent with his wife, kids and extended family. His kindhearted spirit, generosity and ability to be a calming breeze made him the solid rock for his family and friends. He loved sharing his passion of the outdoors and hunting. He was well known to sacrifice his chance at a trophy buck to give his children the opportunity at that same buck. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents: Art and Olga Hennigar, Birchard and Ruth Dalluge; father-in-law, Lawrence Hollatz.
He is survived by his wife; Jane Dalluge, his children; Dustin (Erica) Dalluge, Zachary Dalluge, Sawyer Dalluge and Sara Dalluge, his parents; Larry and Carol Dalluge, his siblings; Julie Schulz-Dalluge, Brad (Tanya) Dalluge; a grandson, August Dalluge; mother-in-law, Ruth Hollatz; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family of Steve Dalluge wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Pastor Z, family and friends that have been supporting us during this time.
