Walter E. Hirsch
BELMOND-Walter E. Hirsch, 92, of Belmond, IA, died, Tues., May 10, 2022, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice Inpatient, Mason City, IA, with his loving family at his side. Public funeral service will be Monday, May 16, 2022, at 2 PM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Belmond. Public visitation will be on Monday at the church from noo-2 PM. Burial with full military honors will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond, IA is handling funeral arrangements.

Walt introduced me into the world of Winnebago delivering in 2017! I was very disappointed when he retired a couple years later. Along the way a friendship developed. He became a special person in my life. Covid really disrupted our time spent together over coffee, with the gang in Belmond, when I could make it up from Dows!! He was someone special!! He will surely be missed!! My condolences to the family. Craig and Jeanne Russell

My first boss in the 1960s & a lifetime friend. Although we lived @1000 miles apart, we worked closely together for all of the Rath & Dubuque years from Matawan,NJ to Belmond,IA. He was a great guy who will always have a special place in my heart
