Alberta Womack Obituary

Mrs. Alberta D. Womack, 82, of 288 Little Cherrystone Lane, Chatham, Virginia departed this life on Wednesday night, March 15, 2017, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born on November 17, 1934, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Neshall Davis and Mae Reynolds Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Womack; one son, Michael Womack; and two brothers, Samuel and James Davis. Mrs. Womack was last employed by Tallheimer's in Richmond, Virginia and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church, where she served as member of the usher board and choir member. Those left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Cynthia Womack of Chatham, Virginia and Paulette Womack of Richmond, Virignia; two sons, Terr Womack of Capitol Heights, Maryland and Jeffery Womack of Portsmouth, Virginia; three brothers, Johnny Davis of Chatham, Virginia, Felix Davis (Mae Bell) of Danville, Virginia, and Henry Davis of Washington, D.C.;15 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church by Bishop William H. Tarpley. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Miller Funeral Home, Gretna is in charge of the arrangements.
