January 29, 1944 - March 2, 2022
Carlton Ray Scott Sr., 78, of 801 Scott Rd., Semora, died on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Born in Pittsylvania County, Va., Mr. Scott was the son of the late Joseph Carlton and Virginia McGhee Scott and husband of the late "Jackie" Coleman Scott. Mr. Scott retired from Verizon and later ran Bowes and Bowes Store. He served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. He was a member of Lebanon Christian Church.
Mr. Scott is survived by three sons, Ray Scott (Stacey), Joey Scott (Melanie), and Shane Scott (Jennifer Moore); one brother, Lewis Edward Scott; one sister, Vivian Scott Pointer; and five grandchildren, Jenna Scott, Caroline Scott, Madison Scott, Michael Scott Jr., and Jasmine Sedaghtzadeh.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Lebanon Christian Church by the Rev. Donald Daniel. Burial will follow in the Scott Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
