Carolyn Wood Barker went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Sovah Danville.
Carolyn was born on August 11, 1937, to the late Jessie Wilson Barker and Virgie Caroll Wood. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Lee Barker Sr. and her son, Maurice Lee Barker Jr.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Jan Barker Sylvester (William Arthur Sylvester) of Cary, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Sheila Smith Barker of Milton, N.C.; brothers, Jesse Wayne Wood and Larry Michael Wood of Yanceyville, N.C.; grandchildren, Samuel Lee Barker (Dianna) of Yanceyville, N.C., William Maurice Barker (Kimberly) of Sutherlin, Va., Richard Galen Sylvester (Jessica) of Fuquay Arena, N.C., and Kathryn Leigh Sylvester of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and nine great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was the secretary for Barker Auto Sales Inc. and Storage and was also a member of Semora United Methodist Church in Semora, N.C.
Graveside services will be conducted at Prospect United Methodist Church in Yanceyville, N.C., on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 2 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Semora United Methodist Church, 15145 NC Hwy 119 N., Semora, NC 27343.
