Charlie Robert Griffin

Charlie Robert Griffin, 86, of Danville, Va., passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Griffin was born on January 31, 1936, to the late George and Ersley Griffin. In addition to his parents, Charlie was predeceased by three brothers.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Marjorie Griffin of the home; one daughter, Deborah Burkett of Yanceyville, N.C.; and sons, Derek and wife, Gwen, of Dry Fork, Va., and Mark and wife, Tasha, of Scottsburg, Va. He was a beloved grandfather to six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, George and wife, Liz, of Winston Salem, N.C., John and wife, Betty, of Moore, S.C., and Harry and wife, Mary, of Climax, N.C.

Charlie was a Navy veteran and a successful businessman.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, VA 24541, with Pastor Dave Webb officiating and music provided by Pastor Eric Medford. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral, from 1 until 2 p.m. at the West End Chapel. Interment will be held at Floral Hills Memory Cemetery, with military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 1097. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence.
