Clarence Hairston Obituary
The Rev. Clarence Hairston Jr., 89, of 896 Colquhoun Street, Danville, Va., passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at his residence.
Born October 10, 1932 in Danville, Va., he was the son of the late Clarence Hairston Sr. and Clara Hairston. He was married to the late Delois Strader Hairston.
He was the last survivor of his generation and was a Veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Voight Hairston (Robin) and Shammua Hairston (Naivasha) both of Danville, Va.; one daughter, Gina Hairston-Williams (Charles) of Danville, Va.; one brother, Carl Wagstaff (Zeldelea) and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relations and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by one son, Clarence L. Hairston; one brother, James Hairston.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 1 p.m., from the Cherrystone Missionary Baptist Association with Rev. Voight Hairston, Eulogist. Military Rites by the United States Army Honor Guard will follow. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 5 until 7 p.m. from Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home, masks are required.

To the family of Pastor Hairston we offer you our sincere condolences. He has completed his earthly assignment and is now resting in the arms of the Savior. He will be greatly missed. I will always remember him saying "the days of barely making are over." RIH!
