Claude "Junior" Carroll

Claude Swanson Carroll Jr., 77, of 1627 Park Springs Rd Providence, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Cone Health Annie Penn Hospital after being in declining health for several years.

Mr. Carroll was born in Danville, Va. on September 16, 1943, son of the Claude Swanson Carroll Sr., and Elsie McDowell Carroll. He lived all of his life in the Park Springs community of Caswell County. He worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber until his retirement. Junior was employed by the Disston Corporation prior to working at Goodyear. He served as a volunteer fireman, and was an active member of Providence Baptist Church as long as his health permitted. He will always be remembered for his generous, giving sprit.

Survivors include sisters, Marie C. Winstead and husband, Sam, of Leasburg, N.C., Lois C. Easler, and husband, Tom, of Blacksburg, S.C., and Shirley C. Burt and husband, Fred, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Kay C. Ewaldz, and husband, David. The family is especially grateful for the care he received from caregivers at home, and the Brian Center.

Junior had a strong faith in the Lord and was looking forward to going to his Heavenly home.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery 5762 Walters Mill Rd Providence, NC 27315, with the Rev. Mitch Cifers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Providence Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
