On Friday, September 23, 2022, just after we said our good-byes and stepped out into the sunshine, church bells began to ring. It was the normal time to hear these bells but this day they seemed to be welcoming David home and comforting us as well.
David Wayne Bray, born on December 15, 1960, passed away on September 23, 2022, after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his father, Buddie N. Bray; He is survived by his mother, Anita Bray, and stepmother Gaye Bray. He also is survived by his daughter, Brooke Jenkins and husband, Justin, grandson Myles Jaxon, and Brookes mother, Sandy Bray, of Gastonia, N.C.; and his brother, Mike Bray and wife, Kelly. David is also survived by his significant other, Laura Athey.
David was owner-operator of Mt. Hermon Barber Shop. He enjoyed his profession and all the laughter and tales while giving a haircut.
Per David's request, there will be a private service at a later date. Memorial tributes and contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

Thoughts and prayers go with David's family at this very sad time. David was certainly a very unique and special gentleman. He always had a story to tell and had that special way of expressing himself while he told it. Having only met him a short time ago, but I know he will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. Just recently he was telling me about his vast collection of golf balls he had set up in his shop. We certainly need more people in the world like David.
