Debbie Kay Thacker, 63, of Greensboro, N.C. went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital after being in declining health for seven months.
Debbie was born in Danville, Va. on May 6, 1958, she was the daughter of the late, Harvey Thacker Jr. and Edith McDowell Sparrow. She grew up in the Danville area and then after she graduated high school she spent the rest of her life in North Carolina where she worked as a manager at Pactiv in Greensboro. She was a member of The Summit Church in Kernersville, N.C.
Survivors include, her sister, Wanda Cooke and her husband, Tim of Gretna, Va.; her brother, Keith Sparrow of Sutherlin, Va.; her stepmother, Doris Thacker of Keeling, Va.; and a number of friends.
A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Highland Burial Park with the Rev. Dr. Doug Barber officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service and at other times the family will be at the residence of her sister, Wanda Cooke at 2461 Old Mine Road, Gretna, VA 24557.

Wanda and family, I am so sorry to learn of Debbie's passing. We shared a
