Delano Parsons Obituary

Delano Lane "Dino" Parsons Delano Lane "Dino" Parsons, 69, of 488 West High Tower Road, Sutherlin, Va., died on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, N.C., after being in declining health for the past three years. Dino was born on November 21, 1944, in Pennington Gap, Va., a son of the late Harold and Ella Mae Terry Parsons. He spent most of his life in the Pitts. County area where he worked for Goodyear for over thirty years. He enjoyed racing and doing mechanical work. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include, a son Randy Parsons and wife, Bonnie; granddaughter, Erica Parsons; great- grandsons, Zachary Carver and Jackson Carver; brother, Norman Parsons; half-brother, Keith Lylerly; his sweetheart, Debra Adkins; and special friend, Delores Carpenter. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Franklin Wayne "Biscuit" Parsons. A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 7 p.m. at the residence of Debra Adkins at 901 Livestock Rd, Danville, VA 24540. Interment will be held at a later date in Inman, S.C. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Laurel Grove Fire and Rescue at P.O. Box 26, Sutherlin, VA 24594.
