Doris Elaine Triplett Earles Doris Elaine Triplett Earles, 87, of 4752 Stillmeadow Road, Axton, Va., went Home to be with her Lord on Monday, September 29, 2014. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her residence where she had been declining in health for several weeks. Mrs. Earles was born in Danville, Va., on October 2, 1926, the daughter of the late James O. Triplett and Minnie McNichols Triplett. She lived all of her life in the Axton and Sandy River communities. On January 9, 1948, she married Washington Marshall "Wash" Earles, who predeceased her in June of 2009. She was a homemaker who loved cooking, growing flowers, sewing, and quilt-making. In addition to serving her family as devoted wife and mother, she was an active member of Anderson Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as board member, Sunday school teacher, and Bible school director for many years. She is survived by one son, David M. Earles of Wilmington, Del.; three daughters, Pat Prevette (Tom) of Axton, Va., Deborah Brumfield (Terry) of Morganton, N.C., and Donna Caldwell (Floyd) of Danville, Va.; four sisters, Deloris T. Cassada, Carolyn T. Pearman, Jean T. Graham, and Faye T. Moore; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Triplett; and two brothers, Edward Thomas Triplett, and Hillary Lee Triplett. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Anderson Chapel United Methodist Church, 5181 Medical Center Road, Axton, VA 24054. Officiating will be Pastor Tim Satterfield and Pastor Floyd Greenwood. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel and at other times at the residence.
