Earnest Jeffreys Obituary
December 9, 2025
Rev. Earnest McCoy Jeffreys, 75, of Alton, Va., departed this life on December 9, 2025. He was the son of the late John Jeffreys and Eva Brandon Jeffreys. He worked as a Longshoreman in Baltimore, Md., for many years and was an associate minister of First Baptist Church, Roxboro, N.C. He also served in United States Marines and was a Purple Heart Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Florence C. Jeffreys of the home; four children, Wendi Beverley (Michael) of N.C., Tracey Anderson (Craig) of W.Va., Destinee Wright of N.C. and Xavier Wright of Maine; two grandchildren, Jordan Anderson and Perez Beverley; two brothers, Charles (Frances) and Anthony (Jean) of Md.; 13 brothers-in-law; nine sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Rev. Jeffreys will be held Friday, December 19th, at 12 p.m., at Pleasant Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 7017 Rocksprings Road Sutherlin, Va. Burial will follow at Greater Brandon Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be held one hour prior to service on Friday.
Funeral services are provided by Jeffress Funeral Home, 2000 North Main Street, South Boston, VA.
