Edna Mayhew Williams Wallace, 95, formally of Chatham Court, Danville, Va. died on Friday, February 16, 2018, at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after being in declining health for several months. Mrs. Wallace was born in Pittsylvania County, Va., on March 5, 1922, a daughter of the late Robert Motley Mayhew and the late Lorena Watlington Mayhew. She attended E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg, Va. She spent most of her life in the Danville area, where she first worked for the former Kinggoff's Jewelers in Danville for over 25 years then she went to work at the Gift Shop as a manager at Danville Regional Medical Center, until her retirement. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 50 years, but due to her hearing, impairment was unable to attend. Mrs. Wallace was first married to Earnest H. Williams, later she married Raymond D. Wallace, Sr., both deceased. Survivors include, son, Larry Williams and wife, Virginia of Danville, Va.; daughter, Sue W. Perkins of Kernersville, N.C.; sister, Shirley M. Bailey of Burk, Va.; brother, Bob Mayhew of Green Mountain, N.C.; grandchildren, Jeff Williams, Brandon Williams and wife, Jennifer, David Perkins and Laura Korman; step son, Raymond Wallace, Jr. and wife, Gurine; step daughters, Patsy Dalton and husband, Billy, Nancy Evans, and Dorothy Thornton; and numerous great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by a brother, Virgil Mayhew; and a son-in-law, Ronnie Perkins. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Altavista Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 409 Arnett Blvd, Danville, VA 24540.
