Effie Oskey Obituary
Effie Jean Williamson Oskey, age 74, died on July 1, 2019, at Sovah Health of Danville after a decline in health. Mrs. Oskey was born in Goldstone, N.C. on April 13, 1945, the daughter of the late Herbert Baxter Williamson and Clora Maness Williamson. She was married to the late John Russell "Rusty" Oskey III. Mrs. Oskey retired from Dan River, Inc. working in 4A-Dress. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Oskey was predeceased by a son, Phillip Jason Oskey; brothers, James Williamson, Clinton Williamson, Eli Williamson, Johnny Williamson, and Howard Williamson; and grandson, Davey Eanes. Surviving are her children, Eva Marie McGregor of Danville, and Rusty Oskey IV of Danville. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Wilson. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 2 p.m. from Townes Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends at her sister's residence, 520 Ferry Road.
