Frank Hedrick Obituary


CHATHAM, Va. - Frank Aaron Hedrick, age 64, of 469 Victoria Rd., Chatham, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at his residence following a long illness.

Born November 28, 1939 in Sandy Level, Va., he was a son of the late Dollie Hedrick and Lula Kendrick Hedrick. He was also predeceased by a son, Brad Hedrick; three brothers, Edgar Hedrick, James Hedrick, Cleave Hedrick, and one sister, Mildred McBride.

Frank lived all his lie in the Sandy Level and Museville community. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, retired from VDOT and was of the Christian faith.

He was survived by his wife of 38 years, Faye Adkins Hedrick of the residence; a daughter, Beth Yost and her husband, Malcolm of Panasoffkee, Fla.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ethelene and Ronald Catron of Dry Fork, Jeannette and Walter May of Suffolk, Hassie and Bill Murray of Fort Myers, Fla.; one brother, Harold Hedrick of Lynchburg; special friends Vickie and Benny Furrow of Chatham, Dean and Dorothy Nelson of Chatham.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Cool Branch Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 54, Penhook, VA 24137 or Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, 180 Floyd Ave., Rocky Mount, VA 24151.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004 by Dean Nelson at the Hedrick Family Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post #4165 & DAV Chapter #46.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 469 Victoria Rd., Chatham.
