Geneva Bradley Newman
DANVILLE - Geneva Bradley Newman, 86, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 while visiting family in Baton Rouge, LA. She is predeceased in death by her husband, Hoyt C. Newman; her parents, Clarence C. Bradley and Sarah Collie Bradley, and her brother, Clarence C. Bradley Jr.
Geneva was born on July 4, 1922 in Danville, Va. She spent most her life in Danville and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Averett College and was a co-owner of Baroody Candy Company. She was a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church. Mrs. Newman was also a member of the Forest Hill Garden Club and an active member of the Thursday's Bridge Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianne N. Holley and son Sidney C. Newman. Also her grandchildren Shawn Holley, Brett Holley, Holly Ann Holley, Kelly R. Newman, Tara N. Carlsrud and husband Tim Carlsrud, and Corey C. Newman.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel by the Reverend Larry House. The family will receive friends on Friday November 28, 2008 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home and Cremation Services North Main Chapel.

I used to help Jerri clean Mrs. Newman's house. Even though cleaning is a tough job I ALWAYS looked forward to seeing Mrs. Newman! What a treasure she was. She always insisted we have a soda or a snack. I am sorry for your loss.

I enjoyed my friendship with Geneva through the Forest Hills Garden Club. All of us will miss being with her at our club meetings.

We loved Mrs.Newman at the Dollar General store in Southwyck Pla.We know her birthday was July 4th.She was known as our little fire cracker,such a sweet little lady. Our Prayers go to her family.We will sure miss her.

I was saddened to read of Mrs. Newman's death and wanted to extend to the family my deepest sympathy. I always found Mrs. Newman to a most gracious person and know she will be missed by her family and friends.
