Joan Aileen Harville Cousins

Joan Aileen Harville Cousins, 91, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born in Danville, Va. on January 9, 1934 to the late Mabel Lipford Harville and the late Frank Harville Sr. She was also predeceased by her loving husband, Mr. Paul Edward Cousins.

Joan was of the Christian Faith and was a member of Swansonville United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She also resided in the Swansonville community for over 60 years. She was a loving homemaker.

Joan is survived by two daughters; Donna "Christy" Cousins McCurry and husband, George of Danville, Va. and Joni Barker and husband, Dobie of Chatham, Va.; one son, Keith Cousins and wife, Lynne of Chatham, Va.; four grandchildren, Shannon Barker, Carrie Spiller, Erin Cash, and Tyler McCurry; and two great-grandchildren, Liam Cash and Leah Cash.

In addition to her loving husband and parents, Joan was predeceased by a son, Kevin Cousins; and three brothers, Frank Harville Jr., Carl Harville, and Marvin Harville.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 12 noon, with Pastor Daryl Joyce officiating at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel. Interment will follow at Swansonville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 16492 Franklin Turnpike, Dry Fork, VA 245949. A visitation will be held prior to the service on the same day, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, Va. The family respectively request no visitors at the residence.
