In Memory of my loving sister whom I will dearly miss because she taught me so many things in life about art, love, appreciation and respect. Altough she was an artist using her pin, pencil and colors to describe the way she saw things, she was an artist in other ways also. She taught me the art of appreciating music and would always allow me to play with the new instruments she would bring home giving me instruction along the way. She taught me the art of how to appreciate others through not looking at their outward appearance but their inner love. She taught me how to appreciate the the simple things in life and to always stop and not only smell the flowers but to see their beautiful colors, smell their sweetness, to feel the warmth of the sun that causes them to grow, to feel the wind that cools them and causes them to sway, to see the bees pollenate them and to listen to their wonderous humming (singing) as they worked. Lily taught me to give respect to all God's creation and mostly to my fellow man. God knew when he made Lily that she was a beautiful and special flower that truly stood out in our family and one that others would see, love, appreciate, admire and respect as well for her inward beauty and outward beauty will last far beyond our earthly memory of her.

I miss my sister. Lily was solid and unshakeable. What an awesome testimony to a wonderful sister. My heart often feels heavy - like it has a hole in it, however, I am comforted to know that Lily's faith was strong and she is at a peaceful place with the Almighty God.

Lily, my friend my niece and confidant was strong beyond description. On the eve of her death, though weak in body, Lily, who was named for a flower, was so strong in spirit, so unafraid. If Lily could be heard she is saying:

When death did beacon me with outstreached hands

And lead me to that promised land

I was not afraid to go

For though the path I did not know,

I took deaths hand without a fear

For He who brought me safely here

Took me safely back

He did not let me go alone

Into the valley to you unknown

I took God's hand

And journeyed to my promised land

Kings and kingdoms pass away

Nothing on earth forever endures

So trust God's promise and doubt him never

For only through death can man live forever.
