Lois June Clark Adkins

June 4, 1933 - April 24, 2022

Lois June Clark Adkins, 88, entered into her heavenly home on Sunday, April 24, 2022. She was born on June 4, 1933, in Pittsylvania County, to the late Mattie Hudgins Clark and the late Euist Van (Bud) Clark. Mrs. Adkins was married to the late Luther E. Adkins Sr.

Lois was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Dan River Retirement Club, Pocohontas Wyanette Council #22, VIP at Riveroak Church of God. Lois worked for Dan River Inc. in the sewing room, before her retirement.

She is survived by her son, Luther E. Adkins Jr. (Kim) of Danville, Va.; and niece, Brenda Clark Shelton.

In addition to her husband, mother and father, she was predeceased in death by three brothers, Herman Clark, Henry Clark, and Norman Clark; brother-in-law, Clarence Rigsby whom she loved like a brother; sister, Elizabeth C. Rigsby; sister-in-law, Marguerite H. Clark whom she loved like a sister; and two nephews, C. Lee Rigsby Sr. and Wayne Rigsby Sr.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, Va. A funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel with Pastor Lee Rigsby Jr. and the Rev. Jerry Foley officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. At other times the family will receive friends at the son's residence.

The family would like to thank the staff of Riverside Health & Rehab Center, Liberty Home Care & Hospice Services, Centra Medical Group, Kindred Hospital and Sovah Health.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Saint Judes Childrens Hospital or charity of your choice.
