Louise Baker Obituary

Louise G. Baker

On Sunday, February 7, 2021 Louise G. Baker's spirit was freed from her body, to be at peace with the Lord and to be held in a special place within each of our hearts, where her memory will forever remain free of pain, to smile upon us.

Louise was born in 1918 the oldest of four children to Richard and Bessie Greene.

She married the love of her life, Bill Baker. He preceded her in death. Bill and Louise raised three children, Sue Franklin of Pinehurst North Carolina, Sandra Lampl of Clyde, North Carolina, and Naples, Florida, and Ricki Baker of San Diego, California.

Louise survived her sisters, Mildred White, Gloria Harvey, and brother Dick Greene.

Louise had many friends, and they were an important part of her life. Whenever a friend was not well Louise would bring her fabulous light rolls and comfort them with kind words. She leaves behind two grandsons, Chris Foster of Norfolk Virginia and Brian Baker of Laguna California and nieces, nephews, and cousins that cherish her memory.

Her family is forever grateful for the wonderful care given her by caregivers and friends. Especially helpful were Linda Jones, Vicky Walton, Amporia Hutchison, Teresa Milan, Kim Reid, and many caring relatives and friends.

Because of Covid there will not be a funeral at the present time. Donations in her memory can be made to Rivermont Baptist Church, 122 Sunset Pl., Danville, VA 24540.

Norris Funeral Services, Inc. & Crematory, Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Tpke., Danville, Va. is respectfully serving the Baker family. Online condolences may be made at www.norrisfuneral.com.

Aunt Louise has meant so much to my family. She lived a good life, touched a lot of lives, and was a terrific prayer warrior. She will be missed. I know Jesus is welcoming her home.

When I first moved to Danville in 1997, I met Louise Baker at a Stonecroft Ministries monthly meeting of the Christian Women´s Club at the Stratford Inn on Riverside Drive. Louise was a faithful and dedicated woman of God that I was privileged to get to know and spent time with as members together in the Danville Club. During my years in Danville, after Christian Women´s Club disbanded I lost touch with some of the fellow members who, like Louise Baker, have passed away. These "Sisters in Christ" left us with good memories and a legacy of faith and love that lives on forever. Rest In Peace, Louise, God´s good and faithful servant.
