Margaret Cooper Obituary

ALBEMARLE, N.C. - Margaret Elise Poole Cooper, age 91, of 40162 Stony Gap Road, Albemarle, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at 3:40 a.m. at Sunrise at Eastover-Charlotte.
Born July 6, 1914, in Rowan County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Charles Dalton Poole and Myrtle Carter Poole Cook.
Mrs. Cooper was a retired homemaker and a member of North Albemarle Baptist Church, where she worked in the children's nursery. She enjoyed arts and crafts, particularly ceramics and oil paintings. She had won several awards for her work. She also enjoyed flowers, working in the yard and seeing things grow. Her greatest loves were her family, particularly her grandchildren, homemade ice cream and dark chocolate.
She was married to Hazel Mack (H.M.) "Snook" Cooper, who predeceased her in March 2000.
She is survived by three sons, Michael D. Cooper and wife, Argele, of Charlotte, Barry Cooper and wife, Jane, of Albemarle and Stephen Cooper and wife, Judy, of Danville, Va.; a daughter, Sherry Cooper Honeycutt of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a brother, Charles Dalton "C.D." Poole of Hickory, N.C.; and nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by a grandchild, Mary Beth Cooper.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle, N.C., with the Rev. Dr. Grady Taylor officiating.
The family requests that memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001, Alzheimers Assoc., 3800 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, N.C. 28215 or North Albemarle Baptist Church Building Fund, 217 Yadkins Street, Albemarle, N.C. 28001.
Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, N.C., is in charge of arrangements.
