DANVILLE, Va. Our angel here on earth, Mari Elizabeth McDonald, spread her wings and went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 14, 2019. Mari graduated from George Washington High School in 2013. She attended Danville Community College and then went to work for the Innkeeper. Her final job was working as a security guard. Mari loved art and had amazing talent. She enjoyed drawing whenever she had a moment. She loved nature and all of God's creatures. Mari enjoyed reading, writing, and spending time with her family. She loved being a big sister to her siblings and spoiled them with love and affection. Mari's love was obvious through her contagious smile and joyful disposition. She never met a stranger and was always eager to help anyone in need. She was born on April 15, 1995, to George Douglas and Stephanie Hooker McDonald. She is survived by her parents, sisters, Hannah Nicole Elliott, and Glynda Dale McDonald, maternal grandparents, Tommy H. and Shirley Adkins Hooker; fiancé, Nicholas Davis, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She will be missed by many. Mari was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Glenn Dale McDonald and Alice Bond McDonald; four uncles, Glenn McDonald, Greg McDonald, Jim Harr and Arnold Jennings "AJ" Moore, with whom she had a special bond; and a cousin, Carolyn (Serenity) Dixon. Mari was loved by everyone she met. She has left a hole in the heart of those who loved her. Mari enjoyed and appreciated nature and encouraged everyone to recycle, plant a tree, and stop to smell the flowers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Mt Olivet Church UMC, 245 Mt Olivet Lane, Danville.
