Nina Burroughs Obituary

Nina Estelle Harper Burroughs

Feb. 17, 1956 - April 18, 2021

Nina Harper Burroughs, 65, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2021, at Roman Eagle Health & Rehab, Danville, Va. She was born on February 17, 1956, in Danville, to the late Margaret Bragg Harper and the late Samuel Doug Harper.

Nina worked as a homemaker all her adult life, a life that she enjoyed very much. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Nina was definitely one of a kind. Her infectious smile and laugh will always be remembered. She was a very active person at Roman Eagle. She will always be remembered for her love of music, playing bingo, taking pictures and most of all for giving quality advice (in a loving way), whether it was asked for or not.

Survivors include her daughter, Laura Burroughs of Ringgold, Va., former husband, Tony Burroughs; her brother, Bill Harper (Pat) of Danville; sister-in-law, Carolyn Harper of Dry Fork, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nina was predeceased by her brother, Doug Harper.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to all the staff at Roman Eagle for the love and care that was shown to her throughout the years.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Highland Burial Park, Danville, Va. A visitation will be held at the graveside immediately following the service. Cards and expressions of condolences can be mailed to her daughter Laura at 585 Cedar Road, Ringgold, VA 24586.

Dear Laura and family of our dear friend Nina;
I don't know if I can find the words to express how sad we all feel at this time. First of all, our hearts go out to you, her blood family.
Secondly, we loved Nina and as Susan has always considered Nina, her "adopted little sister" since they have been at Roman Eagle together. Anytime we had anything at Roman Eagle, holiday meal, birthday party...whatever...Nina was automatically invited. She was a member of our family. We lost our oldest sister a year ago and Nina's heart was just as heavy and hurt as ours.
BINGO will never be the same on Tuesday afternoons without Nina.
I say all of this, in my feeble way to explain to you, her family, that she had become a member of us, our family.
We love Nina and look forward to the day we can be reunited with her in Heaven.
We pray that The Lord will reach down and wrap His loving arms around us all during this sad, sad time.
God bless you all,
Susan, Billie & Jim
