Mrs. Ola Mae Foley Knight

MAYODAN - Mrs. Ola Mae Foley Knight, 86, of 1771 Ayersville Rd., died on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008 at Mayodan Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Wayne Knight, Reverend Bruce Martin, and Reverend Rick Haug officiating. Interment will follow in the Mayodan Municipal Cemetery.

Mrs. Knight was born on May 14, l922 in Patrick County, Va., the daughter of the late Charlie Foley and the late Sally Jane Elliott Foley. She was retired from the Rockingham County School System. She was a member of Mayodan Pentecostal Holiness Church where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years and was involved in the women's ministry. She worked in the church youth camp. She was a member of the Mayodan Mountain Widows Club and attended the Senior Citizens Retreats.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rigell Knight; son, Edgar Rigell Knight; sisters, Mary Owens and Mildred Lemons; and a brother, Russell Foley.

She is survived by her son, Wayne Allen Knight and wife Irene of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Margie Knight of Madison; brother, Hayman Foley of Winston Salem; five grandchildren, Kyle Knight (Stephanie), Karah Easter (Tony), Robin Graves (Wallace), Lee Knight (Kim), and Virginia Broughton; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at the funeral home and all other times at her home.
