Patsy Ann Jones Gregory, age 88, of 225 Ripley Rd., Apt. 19, Danville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at her residence. She was born in Pittsylvania County, Va.,to the late Lee Hutch Jones,Sr. and the late Callie Powell Jones. Patsy was married to the late Eugene Edward Gregory Jr. Mrs. Gregory was a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Esther Bible class, member of Echoes and served on various committees throughout the church. She was also a member of the VFW Post 647 Ladies Aux. where she held several offices. Patsy was a 1945 graduate of Whitmell Farm Life School. She retired from Leggetts Department Store where she was a Department Supervisor.Mrs. Gregory is survived by a daughter, Lisa G. Thomasson and husband, Chuck, of Danville; a son, Melvin E. Gregory and wife, Brenda, of Midlothian, Va.; three sisters, Elizabeth Hastings of Ridgeway, Va., Nancy Daughtridge of Danville, and Marjorie Hutt and husband, Ted, of Beverly, Mass.; two brothers, Lee Hutch Jones Jr. and wife, Edna, of Ringgold, Va.,and Michael I. Jones and wife, Mary, of Chatham, Va.; three grandsons whom she adored, Jeff Gregory and wife, Lisa, Brad Gregory and wife, Jill, and Jacob Thomasson; three great-grandchildren, Emma Gregory, Alice Gregory and Lincoln Gregory; and she also leaves many loving relatives and a host of friends.In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Bobby E. Gregory; a brother, Bernard L. Jones; and a granddaughter, Amy Gregory.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Tpke., Danville, VA 24540 and other times at the residence.A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, May 8, 2016, at St. Lukes United Methodist Church, 3090 N. Main St., Danville, VA 24540 with the Rev. Susan Hannah officiating.In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be sent to St. Lukes United Methodist Church, 3090 N.
