Ralph Warren Loeb, 80, of 4320 Horseshoe Road, Danville, Va., died on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Danville Regional Medical Center after being in declining health for the past year.Mr. Loeb was born on May 13, 1936, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of the late Randolph Loeb and the late Lavinia Schieffelin. He was a resident of Danville since 1975, where he worked for Danville Regional Medical Center for fifteen years. He proudly served his country for over twenty years in the United States Army. He was a member of the Welcome Baptist Church and the Brosville Ruritan Club. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking.On June 26, 1956, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Hyler Loeb, who survives of the residence.In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Brenda McRobie and husband, Stanley, of Zebulon, N.C. and Sharon Hackney and husband, John, of Danville, Va.; a son, Brian Loeb and wife, Robin, of Blairs, Va.; four grandchildren,11 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, eight step grandchildren, and seven step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Doris Dunham; and a brother, John Henry Loeb.Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, November 2, 2016,from 7 until 8:30p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel and at other times the family will be at the residence.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 2 p.m.at the Welcome Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Jeff Woods, the Reverend Jimmy Hussey, and the Reverend Clayton Murphy. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens with Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Army.
